Interviewer: So, how does it feel now that everybody knows the big Top Dog secret?

Chris: I think I've been anticipating this for a while now, and I'm excited that we are now allowed to tell people about it! I'm looking forward to seeing the episode.

Interviewer: Can you start by just telling us a little bit about your journey with Demo so far? How old was he when you got him?

Chris: He was 9 weeks old, and he has lived with me in New Hampshire, Chicago, when I lived on the road full time, and in Indiana. We've been playing frisbee as his main sport the whole time, but he's dabbled in dock diving, agility, flyball, bitesports, and scentwork.

Interviewer: Have you and Demo had any hard times together?

Chris: Um, well yes. Probably the hardest time was when I was going through a divorce, left my job of nearly 10 years, left my house, and was living on the road full time trying to make it as a dog trainer & performer. Demo was always my rock during those times, and he helped me get to where I am today.

Interviewer: What inspired you to become a dog trainer and performer?

Chris: I got into dog sports first, and wasn't sure how much I actually liked training, funny enough! But the more trainers I met, the more I learned, and the more conversations I had, the more interested I became. Now I can't imagine doing anything else!

Interviewer: How long has it taken to turn Demo into the sport dog he is today?

Chris: His entire life! He was able to catch easy frisbee tosses at 12 weeks old. But training up to where he is today has taken a lot of time, patience and effort. There have been a lot of peaks and valleys, but I'm really proud of everything he has accomplished. And I can't wait to see what we achieve in the future.

Interviewer: What is Demo like at home?

Chris: He's a total goofball. *chuckles* When there aren't toys out, he's not very serious at all. He's very cuddly and loves to give kisses all over my face. But when toys come out, he gets laser-focused and just wants to play with me and the toy.

Interviewer: Can you give us any Top Dog spoilers?

Chris: Ha! We had a really good run, and we set a really good time, but I was hoping to go a little faster.

Interviewer: If you had to summarize your Top Dog experience into just a couple sentences, how would you describe it?

Chris: It's always been a dream to see the west coast, and we had a bit of downtime, so I was able to explore a bit of Los Angeles with Alyssa. I was able to see old friends, as well as meet new friends in the competitors. The whole experience was a whirlwind, but I loved every minute of it.

Interviewer: So it's safe to say Demo has earned his keep?

Chris: *chuckles* Demo didn't have to earn anything, but he's definitely blown me away!
